Keypads with Plastic Caps.

For products where operational life is expected to be long lasting or where products are used in harsh environments and additional wear resistance is required, we can supply silicone keypads assembled with plastic caps. Plastic caps are extremely hard wearing and do not attract dust and dirt in the same way silicone keypads can sometimes do.

Plastic caps can be designed as push fit or supplied bonded to the keypads, method of assembly is often determined by the product assembly design, and we can offer advise on the best option.

Allowing us to supply both keypad and caps ensures each part fits and functions perfectly as an assembled unit and saves customers time and expense by removing an assembly operation.

Plastic caps can be supplied with very high-quality finishes. Caps can be gloss or matt in appearance. They can have protective UV coatings applied, metallic and coloured spray finishes. Chrome plated finishing is also possible.

For keypad assemblies that will be backlit the caps can be moulded clear, sprayed to the correct colour requirement and then text can be laser etched back to the clear moulding allowing LED’s to illuminate the text.

As well as plastic caps we can also supply keypads assembled to Flex circuits incorporating switches and LED’s where required, further reducing customer assembly times.
